UC Merced Workshop to Explore Bilingualism
This interdisciplinary workshop will bring together scholars from psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, and education to discuss research and issues around the topic of bilingualism.
The workshop will start at 7 p.m. Friday with a keynote presentation by Lily Wong Fillmore on cultural diversity and teaching language-minority students. The presentation is open to the general public and will be held in the Dr. Lakireddy Auditorium (COB 102) at UC Merced.
On Saturday, various researchers will discuss bilingualism research, including language processing in bilinguals and challenges faced in bilingual classrooms.
This workshop is co-sponsored by Cognitive Information Sciences, Psychological Sciences, the Center for the Humanities, and the School for the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts.
