Bio:
Jessica Marino is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Health Psychology Department at the University of California, Merced, where she is advised by Dr. Jennifer Hahn-Holbrook. In 2016, she earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Merced. Her research focuses on the psychobiological and cognitive mechanisms that shape maternal behaviors across the lifespan, specifically how hormonal fluctuations, cognitive changes, and sensitive periods like puberty and pregnancy affect maternal responses. She also examines how aspects of maternal behavior, through mother-infant interactions, influence infant health and sociodevelopment, and the potential pathways through which these interactions may affect the infant’s future parental behaviors.
