Professor Deborah Wiebe receives national award

Health psychology Professor Deborah Wiebe is the 2018 recipient of the Dennis Drotar Distinguished Research Award in Pediatric Psychology. This yearly award from the Society of Pediatric Psychology (a division of the American Psychological Association) recognizes "excellence and significant contributions in establishing the scientific base of pediatric psychology.”

The nomination for Professor Wiebe noted that she has had a significant impact on the field of pediatric psychology over the past fifteen years, and she has made seminal and sustained contributions through her focused on the role of social relationships (especially parent-child relationships) in the management of serious pediatric conditions such as Type 1 Diabetes.
