Holly received her B.A. in psychology with a minor in education from the University of California, Davis in 2011. She is now a Doctoral Candidate at UC Merced working in the PsychoNeuroEndocrinology Lab with Dr. Jitske Tiemensma. Broadly, she is interested in social influences on health. Her work focuses on the impact of social media use on health and on the benefits and challenges of leveraging social media for health care. To date, her work has looked at user engagement with health information delivered via social media as well as the impact of social media use on stress recovery. Currently, she is interested in how both subjective measures and objective physiological markers such as cortisol and alpha-amylase can help in understanding the complex relationship between social media use, stress, and health. In her spare time she loves exploring the beaches, cities, and mountains of her native California.
